主要政党一直在努力争取中国人的投票 - 工党承诺在社会福利和医疗保健方面投入更多资金，而自由党则保证能够更好地管理经济和降低税收。
As you have probably heard, the next Federal Election will be held on 18th May 2019, and pre-polling has already begun.
The major parties have been working hard on gaining the Chinese vote – Labor by promising to spend more money on social and health benefits, Liberal by promising a better managed economy and lower taxes.
You may have noticed that the Labor Party has been careful about not mentioning unpopular policies, such as whether they still intend to implement a nationwide Safe Schools-type program.
But there is plenty of evidence to show that Bill Shorten and the Labor Party still refuse to acknowledge the right of parents to protect their children from gender ideology and radical sex education.
1. Firstly, the Labor Party has outlined its commitment to introduce “nationwide programs to address homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and anti-intersex prejudice in schools” in a response to a survey by Equality Australia (an LGBTIQ lobby group).
Does this sound familiar? That is because the Safe Schools Program was also advertised as an “anti-bullying” program against homophobia. However, we know now that it imposed sexual and gender ideology education on children without their parents’ consent.
Given how unpopular Safe Schools was, it is likely that they will revamp the program under a new name and fund it with taxpayers’ money across Australian schools.
2. Secondly, Labor is committed to removing the freedom of religious schools to choose to only employ staff who uphold their religious ethos. At the end of last year, Labor attempted to pass a bill to remove current protections in the law which protect religious institutions from the Sex Discrimination Act, meaning that educators in religious institutions may be exposed to legal persecution for teaching a religious viewpoint on marriage and sexuality.
In its “A Fair Go for LGBTIQ Australians policy handbook”, the Labor Party has promised to put this amendment of the Sex Discrimination Act in place if it wins government.
We believe that parents should have a choice in the type of cultural and religious education their children undertake, and taking away a school’s freedom to teach according to their chosen values is a violation of parental rights.
3. Moreover, the Labor Party has promised in the same policy handbook that it will “make history by appointing Australia’s first full-time LGBTIQ Human Rights Commissioner to advocate for and advance the rights of LGBTIQ Australians”.
In other words, there will be a full-time commissioner ensuring no one can break the laws that Labor will put in place – but only supporting the “rights” of a small percentage of the population.
So, what can we do?
Please share this information with other parents so they understand the facts about Labor’s policy commitments.
And please consider voting for parties that align with our values, that support religious freedom and those that have chosen to speak up for parents’ rights in the past. This could include minor parties – especially in the Senate (upper house).
However, minor parties will not make up the government – so please ensure that when voting for lower house candidates that you give a strong vote (e.g. first, second or third preference) to the major party that will best protect our children, our freedoms and our rights as parents.
Your vote is important in deciding the future of our country, please use it with careful consideration and use it to protect our future generations.
Thank you for your continued support.
